Etimoloji
From the same stem as tumsa (“darkness”) (q.v.), made into an adjective. Originally a yo-stem parallel that replaced the older u-stem form *tumsus, *timsus (cf. dialectal variants timss, timšs, tumss) when u-stems were lost.
