Etimoloji

17th century, northern alteration of the above form, itself from Middle High German zuogehœr(d)e, under influence of the equivalent Middle Low German tôbehö̂re, literally “to-belongings”, thus “that which belongs to something else”. The northern behören for gehören see also in Behörde; compare Dutch behoren.
