Etimoloji
Ačaṙyan derives from Old Armenian նեխ (nex, “rottenness; rotten”), but according to Vogt the borrowing is in the opposite direction. Possibly a Proto-Georgian-Zan *nexw- is reconstructible, with Old Georgian სა-ნეხუ-ე-ჲ (sa-nexu-e-y, “garbage, garbage heap”), Mingrelian სა-ნახვ-ერ-ო (sa-naxv-er-o, “dung heap”) as cognates. Note also Chechen нех (nex), Ingush нувх (nuvx, “garbage”).
