Tanım
•cloud · visible mass of matter, in the medium air, resembling an atmospheric cloud · visible mass of matter in any medium, resembling an atmospheric cloud
köken: From Middle Persian myγ (mēγ, “cloud, mist”), from Parthian, from Proto-Iranian *Hmaygáh (compare Manichaean Parthian myg, Avestan 𐬨𐬀𐬉𐬖𐬀- (maēγa-, “cloud”)), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *Hmaygʰás (compare Sanskrit मेघ (megha, “cloud”)), from Proto-Indo-European *h₃meygʰ- (“cloud, mist, fog”). Related to مه (meh). Cognate with Northern Kurdish mij and Hindi मेघ (megh).
köken: First attested in the Jīlín lèishì (鷄林類事 / 계림유사), 1103, as Late Old Korean 屈林. In the hangul script, first attested in the Worin seokbo (月印釋譜 / 월인석보), 1459, as Middle Korean 구〮룸 (Yale: kwúlwùm).
köken: From Old Swedish. Probably same root as mulen. According to SAOB, probably related to Danish mulm (“darkness”), Proto-Germanic *melhmô and Norwegian Nynorsk mol (“small clouds”) (used in parts of Trøndelag on the Swedish border, although Ivar Aasen doubt clarity of its etymology). Also compare Danish mul (“rain cloud”), Gothic 𐌼𐌹𐌻𐌷𐌼𐌰 (milhma).
