Particularly compare Old Turkic [script needed] (qadïzġaq, “callosity”). Cognate with Nogai кайызгак (kayızgak, “dandruff”).
köken: First attested in the Bak Tongsa eonhae (朴通事諺解 / 박통사언해), 1677, as Early Modern Korean 비듬 (Yale: pitum). Possibly from 빗- (bit-, “to comb”) + -ㅁ (-m, nominalisation suffix). Compare also 빗 (bit, “comb”), 비늘 (bineul, “scale”).
