Etimoloji
jó (“good”) + tékony (“doer”) (presumably from the t(é)- stem of tesz (“to do”) + -ékony (“inclined”)). Created during the Hungarian language reform, which took place in the 18th–19th centuries. The noun tékony is otherwise unattested. The compound word was patterned after kártékony (“harmful”), as an antonym.
