Jocular formation, from чебура́хнуться (čeburáxnutʹsja, “to topple”) + -шка (-ška). Attested in Vladimir Dal's Explanatory Dictionary of the Live Great Russian language [1882] as a generic noun synonymous to ванька-встанька (vanʹka-vstanʹka, “roly-poly”).
