Probably from Middle Chinese compound 歷史家 /历史家 (lek sri^X kæ, literally “pass by + scribe + household”). Compare modern Min Nan reading le̍k-sú-ka. By surface analysis, 歴史(れきし) (rekishi, “history”) + 家(か) (-ka, “expert, professional”).
