Etimoloji
Compound of 入道 (nyūdō, “monk; lay novice”) + 前 (saki, “former, previous”) + の (no, genitive particle) + 太政大臣 (daijō-daijin, “grand chancellor”, literally “imperial government + cabinet minister”). Literally the “lay novice and former chancellor”.
