From スレ (sure, “(Internet) thread”) + 違(ちが)い (chigai, “difference”). Compare also 擦(す)れ違(ちが)う (surechigau, “to pass by”) and its ren'yōkei (continuative stem) 擦(す)れ違(ちが)い (surechigai, “passing by”).
