Etimoloji
Calque of German Finnlandisierung (“Finlandization”), originating from German political discussion in late 1960s and early 1970s (possibly coined by Richard Löwenthal). The word was used to warn voters of Finland's alleged slant towards the Soviet Union in foreign policy. Morphologically suomettua + -minen; the Finnish word has been attributed to Matti Kuusi.
