Etimoloji
Martin (“Martin's”, genitive) + laakso (“valley”). Named after the nearby village of Martinkylä (literally “Martin's village”) (in what is now called Vantaanlaakso); this name in turn is probably from a farm name. The laakso (“valley”) refers to the place's location in a 'valley' between three hills.
