Etimoloji
koro (“crack, cleft”) + -inen, perhaps named after the deep bay that once extended to Koroinen, or after the (sharp) peninsula it is located on at the confluence of the rivers Aurajoki and Vähäjoki. First attested as Latinate in Kurusum in 1303.
