Etimoloji

From bedrijf (“company”) + -s- + klimaat (“climate”). It seems likely that the word is a calque of German Betriebsklima. Note, however, that the German word means only “working atmosphere”, whereas the Dutch word early on appears in both of the senses mentioned below.
