Etimoloji
Phono-semantic compound (形聲 /形声, OC *pleːwɢ): semantic 白 (“white”) + phonetic 勺 (OC *pljewɢ, *bljewɢ). The original form was 旳 with the meaning of “bright”, hence the initial 日 semantic.
