Etimoloji
Short for 快捷運輸／快捷运输 (Kuàijié yùnshū, “rapid transit”), or short for 大眾捷運／大众捷运 (Dàzhòng jiéyùn, “Mass Rapid Transit”) This term was created to distinguish from 地下鐵路 /地下铁路 (dìxià tiělù) which may also mean underground sections of long-distance railways other than MRT.
