Etimoloji

Cognate with Tatar көнкүреш (könküreş, “daily life”), Kazakh күнкөріс (künkörıs, “living conditions”). Derived from the collocation көн күреү (kön kürew, “to live; to experience life day after day”). The semantic field, especially the adjective meanings, appears to have been influenced by the Russian terms быт (byt) and бытовой (bytovoj).
