Etimoloji

Probably back-formed singular from آدَاب (ʔādāb), a plural of the verbal noun دَأْب (daʔb), “persistence, perseverance”. (For the plural type, compare آبَار (ʔābār, “wells”), آثَار (ʔāṯār, “revenges, retaliations”), آرَاء (ʔārāʔ, “views, opinions”).
